Analysis of three major types of workplace conflict

A business is a pattern of complex operations in the people's lives. Businesses are concerned with the production, distribution, and sale of goods and services for the benefit of the buyer and the profit of the seller (Microsoft 1996). Conflict in the workplace is inevitable and dispute management in the United States currently accepts workplace conflicts as an integral part of organizational life. However, dysfunctional conflicts in the workplace are growing and they usually exert an adverse influence on any business' structure and profitability (Gleason 50). There are three major types of workplace conflict. To begin with, there is 'interpretational' conflict relating to communication, followed by differences relating to personalities, and finally, problems originating from organizational structure, policies, and management (Robbins 385). The company known as Pet Ensure Inc., selling life insurance for pets, constantly loses sales and profits because of workplace conflicts. Therefore, it is the intention of this paper to introduce several conflicts within Pet Ensure Inc., offer legitimate resolutions based on accepted motivational theories and project desired outcomes listed according to preferences. The first thing to do is to describe the company in terms of its' history, culture, and purpose. Pet Ensure, Inc. is a company founded by a very ambitious Korean woman, named Yung Phat-Ho. In 1995, she established herself as the CEO and president of operations and increased the company from 2 to 700 employees with revenues close to thirty-three million dollars annually. There are twelve offices located throughout the Western part of the United States.
